August Sunday Evening Dinner at Splash! Rosarito

Haven't seen or maybe I have missed any recent reviews on Splash!, so I thought I would report on our dinner there this evening.

We arrived at/about 7:00 pm. The weather all day had been hot and humid (80+ F) and there was no sign of the trademark splashing waves; the ocean was very calm.

The parking at Splash! was so crowded that we had to wait while the attendants waved cars out and figured out how to fit us in and also the other cars lined up behind us.

We hadn't been there for a few months (since Sister Clare's Toy Drive Charity Event), but our waiters. even though they were inceredibly busy, were right there, taking our drink orders, even before we sat down at our table.

Hot, fresh chips and salsa arrived almost before I figured out how to get my legs under the table and my a-- in the chair without banging into the people sitting behind us.

Service was superb - our waiter remembered that we liked onion rings and he started his greeting with asking us if we wanted to order some.

Our dinner:

One dark beer, a generous tap pour, and one Sidral Apple Soda soft drink

One order of onion rings (of course!)

A double order of fried oysters

One order of Clams Casino

One Seafood Salad

One order of cheesecake for dessert (it was too sweet for our tastes, we won't order it again).

The bill - a good bit less than $400 pesos MN.

We left happy and full and, on the way back to our car, we bought two beautiful, colorful and well-made, full-sized bed blankets from the lady vendor on the outside for a very good price.

We had a great dinner at Splash on Saturday. I had the Splash Mexican Combo which has a chile relleno, a cheese enchilada and a ribeye steak (Yes I was hungry...two surf sessions!). The wife had a shrimp c-cktail. The house salsa is always delicious!

So funny, I just went there for the first time a few months ago. I was surprised I hadn't heard of it before. Food there is super rich but good. I ended up vomiting all night but it was because I couldn't stop stuffing my fat face. HAHA
