Whale Sharks in BOLA in huge numbers

We were astounded at the number of whale sharks in BOLA this week. There was a count of 53 different individuals on one trip; Doc thought maybe as many as 100 might be in the bay now. Water is off-color and there is some debris but once outside the inner islands pretty much as normal. Surface temps 79-81 degrees.
fishing: pretty typical for mid October - dorado are gone, yellows off and on. Skip jack and barracudas still around; a 25# Toro was caught by a kayaker just off Gecko - pretty amazing.
Got into a school of wrasse, various sexes and phases on the north side of Smith, some of the most beautiful fishes in the sea in mho.
Weather was in the high 80s with humidity in the 40s to low 60s. A little buggy in the south bay, gnats mostly, but real buggy in town with mosquitos.
The usual wine thieves are about so bring extra.

Planning on being down there for New Years. And possibly next month for the Baja1000.
