Mragowo parade - country western style

Today we went to a very fun event that happens once a year. It is called the Mragowo Country Piknik Festival. It involves tons of food, cowboy/girl related arts, crafts, leather items and at the end of three days the highlight is the parade.....We only went today, so we saw no musicians but we did see the parade. I can't tell you how odd it is to see American style music and clothes and even our flag everywhere:

This is what wiki says: Mragowo

Genre
Country music

Dates
last weekend of July

Years active
1983-present

Website

Official website

Piknik Country is an international country music festival, held annually since 1983 in Mrągowo, Poland, on the last weekend of July.[1] There are performances by both Polish and foreign artists. In 1989, it was the largest country festival in Eastern Europe.[2]

Piknik Country is the oldest country music festival in Eastern
Europe.

We went to it 6 years ago and we have a wonderful poster in our hallway at home...I was hoping to update the poster but the photographer was not there this time.

WOW!

This sounds like a place I would like to visit.

Love the SCHLEP stores (Polish and German slang for goodies).

It is really a hoot - and there is no protection from the cars and bikes - we had no business being right there on the side of the road but it feels GOOD to do something real bad now and again.....
