Is "Edo" a nickname for Eduardo?

You are probably referring to "Ito"

In Mexico most first sons are named after their fathers. So instead of Pepito, or little Pepe, they call them Ito. Kind of like Jr

"ITO" is a termination for diminutive, that would be LALITO
