abalone items for sale

Hi all- there is a student who is paying his way through college by selling mostly abalone products that are very well made and quite unique.

I bought one of the heart abalone boxes (well, mom bought it for me when she saw how much I like it!)

Delivery to the US will depend on when we have someone headed north who could take the objects - so you would have to have some patience. We will be headed south (think La Paz, East Cape, Cabo) in May.

Here are the goodies:

#1 table decoration $20

#2

$15 abalone with full whale

#3 round abalone ball keychain - it says marineros in small letters - diameter is about an inch

#4

heart shape box attached lid $25

#5 heart shaped abalone box w/ unattached lid $25 SOLD

#6 brown sandal earrings $8

#7 blue sandal earrings $8

#8 abalone dangles $10 SOLD

Blanca, we'll be in BA until 4/1. We'd be happy to help with delivery north of the border.

Zac - that is a great offer! thanks!

alacran - do you live in Mulege? we have a friend who goes there quite often! let me know PM what you are interested in and he can bring the cash and take you whatever you want to Mulege!

It is the dad who makes the abalone items and I sure hope they are careful with breathing in fumes. I can say that everything is really nice - I am impressed with the workmanship.

I don't want to spoil the fun....but we just went thru secondary in Tecate a week ago and one of the things they asked was "Do you have any abalone shells". Might be a good idea to check on that if you are bringing that into the States. Good luck.

Beautiful work. I believe that the dust from working shells is very bad for you, he needs to be diligent about using good dust masks.

Excellent work and great prices too...I hope he gets lots of orders! I dont think an abalone gift is a problem at the border...just a souvenir.

I think Shari is right, but maybe someone can ask at the border?

My guess is that taking an abalone shell might be the issue - but taking a piece of art not.

and to clarify - the kid's dad makes the art and Rommel sells it to pay for college.

Bajaboy - you are ON! Ross will be here in a week or so. He will take the box and earrings to you.

Amazing how things come together when they are meant to be!
