NEW San Felipe Restaurant......

Just got work that La Vaquita Restaurant is opening a second location at Playa De Oro. Let's hope they can stick it out and make a go of it.

Oh man, that would be nice. I love their food. It's too bad that place can't seem to make a go of it. It is such a nice location. I hope what you heard is true!

Restaurants is the hardest business to be in. And it is especially true in tourist dependent areas.

Local Latinos generally support their neighborhood taco stands and only the better heeled ones eat out often in sit-down restaurants.

"La Vaquita"...............couldn't they come up with a different name? Seems an insensitive choice given the locale.

I thought the same thing, like are they serving that poor dolphin for dinner? I guess it's like a Chinese restaurant using "panda" in the name?

I wish them well... Is George's Restaurant San Felipe, still in business?

I would hope naming the restaurant Vaquita might raise a conversation of the dilemma that exists

Well...that's my point. The dilemma is beyond repair. That makes for a sad conversation.

The plight of the Vaquita has been discussed at length for years....just not by those who profit by it....Totuava poachers, and those whom the poachers pay off. The fault falls directly upon the government and others who are in charge of enforcing regulation.

Anyway the La Vaquita restaurant down town is in our top 5 of all SF places. Nice to see them make a try up north. The new location in the past has had difficulty trying to meet the eating preferences of the locals.

Hmmm I never noticed that. Could it be just the restaurants you go to?

:lol::lol: Gotta stay on paved roads when we go out to eat. It's a class distinction thing.
