Interstate 8 E & W between Yuma and El Centro

I don't get on this website much anymore, but I wanted to post a warning for those coming and go to AZ on Interstate 8.

Going down to San Felipe last week we went through San Luis, but, on the way home we went to the East Calexico Crossing and over to 98 to I-8.

From the entrance to I-8 all the way to Yuma, I-8 is torn apart East and West bound.

It has been taken down to 1 lanes each direction and slows to a crawl at the areas where it merges down to one lane.

I would suggest going on the toll road 2 between Mexicali to San Luis to miss all of this mess.

It appears that Mexico does not have the unannounced construction messes all to itself.

You see it when you get there.

I was going to go home via Hwy 2 and decided at the last minute to go through the east gate so I could stop and look at a storage lot for my Travel Trailer when we come down in Oct.

Thanks for the heads up. Crossed at San Luis going south yesterday. HWY 2 is fine....but the crossing North at San Luis (from what I could see) was real busy for Labor Day.
