I went shopping for the xmas party gifts!
I went to dollar days today and bought a bunch of "fun" gifts for the girls - eye shadow - lipstick - nail polish - bandaids and it all came to $30
(I bought some gloves for our delegado).
Tomorrow I would like to do the same for the boys - probably get them dishwashing soap or laundry soap and something else fun, if I can find it there.
Anyone interested in sponsoring this ????
Here is the receipt:
and here is the photo of the loot! If you remember, I bought the same stuff for the ladies last year and they were so so so happy!
I am in San Diego and easiest is to deposit into a wells fargo account that I have for the kids. Check could be mailed as well. I will be in Texas
for a week if anyone there wants to meet up there. Transfers can also be made. Gracias amigos and amigas.

and let the fun continue! With the money that you all gave, I went shopping!
While grocery shopping in San Diego with my mom,ran into a friend who was on her way to donate shoes to the salvation army- she gave them to me
instead:
While in Texas visiting my granddaughter, I stopped in a goodwill store and got some new makeup bags for the ladies. Just small overnight cases
for toothbrush, toothpaste etc.
Back in San Diego, I bought 2 San Diego t-shirts for the boys at a store near my mom's house.
I did not have a car my last day in San Diego, but when I got off the trolley at the border, I saw a goodwill store and went in. I bought 6 pairs of
boys shorts, they are really great shorts. They are going to love them.
Then, there is a couple moving from La Bocana in a few weeks and I asked them if they planned to sell their stuff. Bingo! I bought 8 heavy duty,
absolutely beautiful blankets, some Tupperware, lots of silverware and in a couple days, she will add in the 3 towels she has once she has washed
them.
What an awesome Christmas this is going to be! Thanks everyone!
and this is me with my granddaughter - both of us were laughing very much! I was in hysterics thinking I would never be able to get up again...but I
did. I discovered that there is NO way a gramma can say no to a 4 year old.

I got some towels for the boys and girls! The couple that is moving away from La Bocana called and offered to sell these towels - I am thrilled that
I was able to buy them inexpensively and best of all - not have to beg for someone to bring them down from the States LOL
and even luckier am I - some amigas have offered to wrap some of the gifts while I am on our trip to Mexico City. Huge gift to me because with all
the wonderful clothes donations, these kids are gonna be in style! There are 16kids currently going to college and 7 more candidates for this year
-not all will qualify since they have to have straight A's .. but three of them are there! so the total will be 19 students. In a couple years I
will wind down as they graduate and each one takes over supporting their compadres from La Bocana/Punta abreojos.
Then I can really say I retired!
