Tecate yesterday

Crossed northbound at Tecate yesterday (Tuesday) 1:30pm. No line at all, pulled up to open booth and was through in a few seconds. Like old times.

I had a similar Tecate crossing one cool morning about three years ago.

The next return north there took over an hour and a half one hot afternoon! I must learn to use a calendar more!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

What's with only 1 lane of traffic? Used to be 2 lanes but last time they put us in 1 lane against the wall.

Actually, there was a time when it was even better. Years back, I pulled up to the booth and there wasn't even an inspector in it. She soon came trotting over from the office off the side of the road.
Thems was the daze.

From 5AM to 7AM the two truck lanes are used for passenger car traffic. The work traffic starts to line up on the hill the night before. People just park their car in line, lock it and go home to sleep for the night.
What a nightmare of planning they used at Tecate. When they built the new crossing a few years back, they could have taken the whole project a few miles east and not ruined the lives of all those homeowners living on that fence road, but being customer friendly, or just nice, isn't their method of operation.

Always try to cross at Tecate, but have encountered delays up to 1 1/2 hours on occasion. Problem that I have is that since I live in central Orange County, it is a really long drive over to I-5. So, it has been sort of a mixed bag crossing there.

Anyone tell me if the additional gates at SY have speeded up crossing?

Sunday around 2;30 pm. Line stretched over the hill to the bottom of the other side. Looked to be about a 2 hr. wait. We were on bikes so only about 5 minutes or less.

The line took me :55 minutes in Tecate yesterday. It looked really bad, but only took Leidys and I less than an hour.

I used this time sitting in traffic to check my Facebook!

If Tecate had a SENTRI lane, it would be heaven on earth.
