Puerto Lopez Mateos Bahia Magdalena Whale Watch Jan. 18

Stayed in Cd Constitution for the night at Hotel Paraiso del Valle with my dog. Drove over to PLM and hung around for an hour until I got on a boat with a Mexican family. We saw a mom and baby who came fairly close to our boat. I'm going back there at the end of February and hopefully more whales.

:D How much was the boat trip? Being early there weren't too many people & you didn't need a reservation. We will be going late Feb. Mainly wondering if we need a reservation.

I never make reservations since I am traveling alone. On both trips I've taken in the past 2 weeks in Guerrero Negro and Lopez Mateos I signed up at Malarrimo Tours in GN and went out with 3 in the boat. It was 500 pesos.
Interestingly the 2nd trip in Lopez Mateos I signed up at one of the vendors and waited around to join a group. There were 3 Americans in one group and a family of 4 Mexicans from Puebla in another group; guess which group was cheaper?? So of course I took the trip out with the Mexican family since I speak good enough Spanish to understand what is going on. I always seem to get better prices for tourist events if I join a Spanish speaking group rather than expats.
