and the Mtn Bikes make a comeback!

I had a visit from a group of kids who were part of the bike club from years ago... they have made new trails and decided to start up the club again.

I was so happy to see them busy with riding and creating trails, keeps them exhausted and out of trouble. These kids come from very dysfunctional families.

The fishing cooperative started supporting sports, they have kayaks and mountain bikes to rent out. These two bikes were rented for the day at 50 pesos. Me likes this idea very much since they will be maintaining the bikes.

I gave them water and bananas and talked about how they have to eat carbs if they will be exerting a lot of energy. Two of the kids in the photo are my students now.

Thought I would share a little snapshot of life in our village.
