Excede Internet in Ensenada Area - Good, Bad, Ugly?

Exede is pretty fast, and reliable. Being in Ensenada you will be able to use the beam that services the San Diego area from the Viasat 1 sat. The part that you probably won't like is the data cap, not sure what the cap is on the 373 beam but for people that are used to unlimited internet any cap is annoying.

Off grid, 12-190 watt evergreen solar panels on solar trackers, 2-3648 stacked Outback inverters, 610ah LiFePo4 48v battery bank, FM 60 and MX60 Outback charge controllers, X-240 Outback transformer for 240v from inverters, 6500 watt Kubota diesel generator.

12 miles south of Ensenada will not make a difference. Works well for me about 30 miles south. LarryC is correct about the annoying data cap. Using a VPN or streaming video or anything else that chews up bandwidth will get you FAP'd.

Who did you send an email to? Call Miguel he advertises on the bottom of this page. No contracts and you own the equipment.

No that is not Miguel's office. He is in Chula Vista. He charges $500 for the equipment and can help you find someone to install it, which is on top of the $500. Just call him on the phone and he will get back to you.

Until recently, there were no official dealers of Exede in Mexico. They were supposed to open this year. Don't know about better deals - than those selling from US addresses in Ca and Az - but have my doubts. Keep us posted.

Probably as 'official" as those who sell Direct TV and Dish Network with US programming

There are installers in Mexico. There have been some long running posts here on NOMADS. Do a search for exede for the info.

To clear the confusion - there are "installers" in Mexico. Exede don't know where those dishes are actually installed. There is no Exede Mx web page with rate plans, no Mx accounts. You will be getting US account tied to US address where you don't live.

They were supposed to launch Mx branch earlier this year. Again, I "doubt" that after they've launched it, the rates will come lower than those that people have now with Ca and Az addresses.

2 questions:
1) "Unlimited" in the night only, with 10 GB/month in daytime ?
2) Viasat doesn't sell residential internet plans, Exede does. Please provide link to Exede.mx.
