New Hotel in Guerrero Negro...HOTEL BAJA OASIS....a winner!

I am happy to announce the opening of a new hotel in GN by an old friend of mine...Luis Ibarra...son of one of the founding families of the city. Luis is a hard working, enthusiastic guy who aims to please and it shows in his operation of the hotel. It is his first attempt at being a hotel operator and has been very responsive to the suggestions of his guest. For example a woman mentioned that it would be nice to have bedside lamps and withing the week...all rooms had nice beside lamps! I am still working on getting him little towels for floor towels and he even provides wash cloths!!! It sure is nice to have an owner on site to deal with issues that come up.

It opened a couple months ago and they invited me to work with them this whale season. My guests were delighted with the clean, quiet rooms and great service, great water pressure, good wifi, satellite TV, fans, parking at the door of your room, security cameras and terrific food in his dining room just for guests. It is the street behind the main drag so no traffic noise either. Here are some photos of the place which at the moment has only 4 singles & 4 doubles but they will be adding big family rooms next.

some singles have little kitchenettes with fridge too! and are separate little units.

Luis is also a chef and put out amazing food for us every day...his Mexican buffet was super popular! and grilled fish and scallops delighted all. After dinner we cleared the tables for some dancing! Great margaritas for only 50 pesos too!
Here are a few of his happy customers...many Nomads!

and this group was doing the whale Pink Floyd pose! we saw one that day!

Their website is www.hotelbajaoasis.com and the phone # is 615-157-1112 and email is hotelbajaoasis@gmail.com or I can make reservations for you too. Single rooms are 400 pesos and two beds are 450 pesos. To find it, turn right at the first stop sign past the Casino(a long block down) and another right at the first street and it is 50 yards down on the right. Please tell them you heard about it here on Baja Nomad or tell em Shari sent you!

no relation and has caused some confusion but this Baja Oasis is much nicer! Luis plans to build more rooms in phase 2 and will also have a van for transport to the lagoon and other tourist attractions in the area...and an improved dining facility.
