Out of curisity, has anyone herd news reguarding El Cardonal (east cape sea side..coastal town Next to Punta Pescadero and Los Barriles) ...a camp and mini lodgeing place called El Cardonals Hide Away owned by a Older Canadian guy..some peopel call him crazy Eddie. My question is he still alive, has his place closed down or changed owners? Thanks

I don't know anything about the camp, or Crazy Eddy, but I passed through there twice in December.

The newer road over the mountain from Los Barriles was being repaved, but it did not look like they were addressing any problems with the sub-base or steep cuts and fills, so enjoy it while it lasts.

The dirt road on the coast was in pretty fair condition through El Cardonal and for about ten miles to the north. The road over the pass to Los Planes was fun, but brutal!

I hope someone has more recent info for you.
