2017 Baja Epic Trip

Hey all,

My family and I will be doing our first epic BAJA trip!!!! I'm really excited about this trip, which my wife and I have been planning since January. Our start-off date will be May 31 and a return date of June 20. We will be traveling on 15 JKU, so it will make the trip more exciting. Hope fully everything will work out to the best of our interest.

We will be entering Mexico through San Luis Rio Colorado, then try to reach to MX 5 for our first stop at San Felipe. This stop will only be a single day before we hit the road to Loreto... :?:.

As all of you already know, SF to Loreto, is a +500 mile run, will be making some pit stops ( fuel and food), so hopefully we could arrive at Loreto before sunset. ( JKU has some Jerry Cans) Loreto, will also be a single night stop, since we will driving to La Paz (Club Cantamar), where we will be exploring the nice beaches of ( Hongo de Balandra, Tecolote, Cabo Pulmo..etc) for
next four days.

After La Paz, we will drive to Los Cabos, but we will be taking the LONG WAY, which is through scenery of peninsula ( Camino Cabo Este) Once in Los Cabo, we will stay another (4) days to explore every possible corner of this gem.

After Los Cabos, we will drive up to my favorite part trip, which is Todos Santos with another (4) days to sit back and enjoy the waves..

We couldn't call it an epic trip with only one stay in Loreto, so on our way back we will be crashing out on a Beach Front Condo for another four days. After the nice soothing waves from Todos Santos.

Then we will be taking the +500 mile run from Loreto to SF. With our finial destination (for this trip) will be a three day stay at the good old faithful San Felipe, before we head home to Tucson Arizona.

This will be one epic trip!!

Hopefully anybody could provide me with some information from their previous epic trips to Baja. Such as site seeing, restaurants, attractions, hidden gems..

The only sad part is that I won't be taking my two best friends Sparky and Sly. Being the fact this is our first trip and I am unfamiliar with BAJA.

With that much time I wouldn't try to go from SF to Loreto in a single day? Doesn't make any sense. Stop at BoLA or some place. Maybe two stops. BoLA is a short hop off of Mex 1. The road is great. Stay at Costa del Sol. Very nice hotel with a great restaurant. Take a panga out to all the islands in the bay. Swim with the whale sharks.

And I'd skip the 3 days in SF on the way back. SF is not great. Much better places to spend a couple days.

He's right.

Not much to do there unless you have an ORV to go exploring in. SF is good for only so may fish tacos, beers, and coco-locos at Ruben's camp.

I 3rd JZs suggestion.

Sounds like a wonderful plan!
