You need a closed secure garage that can't be easily broken into and an alarm and don't don't leave it on the street overnight.

people steal cars for parts...easy money

range rovers aren't very popular...
"fancy boy" cars...no offense I like their look
not a big market in baja...we see very little here

if your car can be stripped easily...
its a target...anywhere

i'd be more concerned it breaking down and no parts available
better get tow insurance to get you back home

I drive my Acura MDX down twice a year. I see nice Toyota Highlanders on the road, and other nice "mommy" SUVs. I drive off road all the time (kinda have to to get to my house), always feel better once its nice and dirty! But have I ever felt unsafe? Nope, never.
