Turkeys in Cabo For Thanksgiving

I'm very familiar with Baja and what I can get at supermarkets etc, but I'm curious if anyone has been able to buy a turkey at the Costco or walmart during thanksgiving week. I'll be riding a Dirtbikes with 5 other guys from tecate and we would like to have turkey on thanksgiving. Any info would be great!

I know turkeys can be had at the holidays. Years ago, we had Christmas dinner at Restaurant Pekín in La Paz, and all during dinner people kept coming to the restaurant to pick up fully-cooked turkeys to go. It can be done.

Isn't the word for turkey 'pabo'? Or is there a different term for cooked turkey vs live (or butchered)?

From my Spanish dictionary:
turkey

el pavo, Turquía

of course, the V is pronounced with a 'B'.

Costco and City Club both have frozen pavos for sale - at least they do the week before T-Day. And they have had them for the last 10 years or so. Not sure if they ever sell out or not.

Don't forget to bring the sweet gherkins for the relish tray and a few cans of cranberries. They might be hard to find in Mex.
