Got my 6 month FMM today at San Ysidro, west side.

Parked the car in the lot before the gates and entered the building. Walked right up to the agent. Took about 5 minutes. BUT, if I had gotten there a few minutes later there would have been 30 or more people in front of me. A busload of Chinese tourists unloaded right after I got to the desk.

I lucked out.

Still $500 pesos? I have a few months old
7 day free fmm, for some
reason I looked at it the other day. They have eliminated the previous line one fills out stating
'Principal destination'? Which was always on Tourist Cards, probably been that way for a while, I never noticed. Is that what you see?
thanks

Yes, did not need to walk around the building like someone previously said. Parked in the lot, entered the building through the doors right there.

$28.28

Thanks, I was going to check it out too, for my next FMM. So right lane, park under the shade structure north side of the building, get the FMM, then merge back into the lanes going south for the red/green light... and that was no problem?

How was the realignment of I-5 to the border? No more sharp right then left curves, yes?

No problems. The real sharp right turn has been eliminated but you still turn to the right after the freeway ends.

I crossed southbound this past Monday. The only difference I saw was that there are far fewer lanes coming into the sharp right turn. The concrete k rails and the overhead cover are gone.

Seemed like more lanes open to cross and the route into the side parking was still blocked off.

Once I passed the inspection area I could see about 4 travellers parked in the last parking area at the very end of the building. There is room to pull in and turn to park with a car or truck but no towed vehicles.

Sfandh, was the immigration booth out on the lobby or back in the usual corner office?

that's what I've been doing since the day they opened the new building, so going on 4 years now.
i never knew why people parked south of the building

Out in the lobby, I guess. It was in a different spot last year at this time. Same procedure, pick up the form, complete it, take it to the bank to pay, and then back to where you got it to complete the process.
