Permits required for Trailers and RVs?

Good morning Nomads....I recently read that Mexico is now imposing tariffs on trailers and rvs and requiring permits to cross the border....Do any of you know if that applies to small utility trailers? specifically a 4x8 enclosed trailer that will be towed to a storage facility in Ensenada....Thanks so much for your replies....

A couple reports within the last 2 weeks, not here, Truck w/ 5 th wheel, crossing Tecate going so., no TIP permit required, a couple MH, one
towing toad, no TIP, TJ. That's just what I've read, but there
has been info to the contrary

crossed at San Luis this morning with trailer loaded wrangler, nothing but registration needed on both, although goofy little punkin had me get up in the wrangler and start it for some reason... guess didn't want a dead wrangler coming in...
something a little different each time we cross in... keeps ya on your toes....

Any update? Discover Baja site still says RV permits now required, but other sites say they are not required for Baja.

Thanks

"Mexico" is a big place, so let's narrow this down to Baja only.

Trailers other than RV don't require TIP in Baja. Motorhomes, travel trailers and 5-wheels are considered RV. I'm 99% positive that toyhaulers are RV too. Enclosed or open cargo trailer is not an RV.

RV require 10-year TIP. This is not new or "now", it's been in effect for years. But in Baja they only enforce this for motorhomes - not just any RV, and on Baja crossings they don't enforce it too rigorously for motohomes either.
