2-3 years ago the system was expanded south along the coastline from Asuncion to Punta Abreojos (65 miles) interconnecting all the coastal communities. The wells are to the west of Vizcaino and can be seen along the hwy (about 15 miles as I remember right).

Thanks.

It sounds like it indeed is well over 100 miles long. What an amazing-- and delicate-- lifeline.
In a pinch, a pipa (water truck) can be summoned from La Bocana or San Ignacio.

In Bahia AsunciĆ³n we always had two tinacos with enough water for two weeks for the house --- not enough for much laundry, however.

We also kept several of those big blue barrels full all the time for watering the yard and washing dogs. And we had extra large bottles of drinking water for us and the dogs.

The pipe and pumps coming from Vizcaino are old and do break down--- just need to be prepared, It is just of part of living there.

Abreojos is a great place and that looks like a great lot. We often wished we had chosen Abreojos.
