Harking Back Baja 1962

I just pulled out an old pamphlet that was published in August 1962. Ad on the back read-----It's So Easy to Fly with AEROVAVES de MEXICO--

Announcling our New Service, Express from Los Angeles to , Guadalajara, Mexico City PLUS ACAPULCO----Radar equipped, Pressurized cabins, Coctails, Hot meals, Tax free. DC-6 Air Service

Believe it round trip $115.00--less that what you would pay for one night in a decent Hotel at todays prices---AND you could fly into La Paz for even less.

Dream time

One of the best airlines the Mexican Government ever took over!

Just being picky Bern, but it was "AEREONAVES", trans= "Airships". I know because my wife was working there when I met her a year after that brochure was printed. A friend used to jokingly call it "Aereolatas" (Aircans), but it was really a very good airline. Years later, it merged into what is now Aereomexico.

Your pero is right again--I just looked at the ad AND it is misspelled --they dropped the E.

Yes, a great airlines that boasted one of the best safety records in the world for some time.

Grover
It sounds better the way I put it--Of course you are right but what do facts have to do with Baja????
