La Parcela 12

On my way to San Diego recently, I hitched a ride with a local Mexican family and they stopped by this very busy very inexpensive and very fast restaurant. Within about 15 minutes, 30 people were served and every table filled with happy eaters.

The food is the homestyle fare that locals are used to and I didn't even recognize the names of half the dishes. The ladies rattle off the names and put on your plate. You then take to your table. Someone will come by and ask what you want to drink.

I had rice and beans and a veggie mix that was delicious!

I found these 2 addresses and I don't know which one is correct???

Carretera Trans-peninsular Km 16
Ejido Nueva Odisea, Baja California
+52 61 616 67072

and

Carretera Santa Rosalia-Ensenada (280.17 mi)
San Quintín, Baja California 22940
166-7073

The phone numbers are so close, I am guessing it is the same place? DK do you know???

Here is the family that gave me a ride, turns out he is cousin to my best friend here and she is diabetic so we had some conversations on our experiences. Their daughter Evelyn was my middle school student back in the day....next year she starts high school.

Blanca, it is indeed at Km. 16, just past the marker on the inland side of the highway. The village is 'Nueva Odisea'

El Pabellon RV park entrance is at Km. 16 just north of Parcela 12 and Fidel's El Pabellon RV park is at Km. 16.5, just south of Parcela 12. So in-between the two El Pabellon driveways.

See K16 and the two RV campos on this map:

They are a standard stop for breakfast or lunch for years. Sit at the counter they will add a little taste to your plate as they make it. Love there food. The burro machaca is very good. One of the many reasons I drive 1 instead of 5.

It is my go to place to eat when travelling as they have such a great choice and super healthy veggie stews too! and their ranch cheese is plentiful and delicious.

There are a ton and a half of posts on Nomad that are excellent historic and informative references.... This Nomad forum began in 2002 and while a few years of photos were lost during one of Doug's reboots, the text from the past 16 years remains. The search engine is great... type in Parcela 12 and see all the times it was mentioned on Nomad. The same can be done with any location in Baja that you want to see if it has been discussed here. Baja Nomad rocks when it comes to being a resource for easily found data... nothing comes close to doing that on any other site.
