Temporary importation permits (for RV) are for "importation", i.e. when you cross the border. You already have. Relax.

I bet the OP is referring to a tourist permit and not a TIP........

Grouper.... The OP said "Tow permits".
Though, hard to tell what he really meant. There are no "tow" permits, only TIP.

There has been a lot of chatter about that subject as of late. I live in Ensenada and have a one ton Ford with a 12 ft Camper and will be towing my
Wrangler. We are planing on going to San Felepi and returning through Mexicale to our place on I-8 and then back Home to Ensenada Through Tecate in
the next few weeks. Never before have we a problem.

TIPs are not required for any Baja crossings and entry via San Luis.
I hope you mean TIP not Tow permit.

The OP has a 5-er, which is a towed RV. TIPs are required for RVs on Baja crossings.
Though they very rarely enforce this rule for travel trailers and 5-ers in Baja.

What's your source for saying TIPs are required? I know Discover Baja had something on their website but it looks like that is gone now. We didn't
need a TIP this year for our RV and we know a lot of RVers who have gone to Baja and no one has needed a TIP.

They almost never ask about FMM either, on Baja crossings. Doesn't mean it is not mandatory.

That page has near the top "NO VEHICLE IMPORT PERMIT IS NECESSARY TO DRIVE IN THE ENTIRE BAJA PENINSULA."
Their caps, not mine.
I interpret the info about RV permits is for the mainland. It starts by saying:
"RV'ers excited about traveling in their home away from home throughout mainland Mexico........"

Has anyone actually paid for the 10 yr. TIP for RV' s, MH,
Trailer, etc., something like $50, when crossing into Baja? Anyone talked to
Mex Customs for the need of a TIP? Was some chatter
a couple yrs. back. That rumored requirement seems
to have disappeared. Some, possibly out of date,info on a site doesn't make it valid, but then again it is Mex. sometimes fluid.
Comparing a TIP to Imm regs, regs which are
a decades old requirement, not sure that is applicable

Can also be interpreted as a good news for mainland travelers - they may keep RV there for 10 years, unlike vehicles. The only thing that this page
makes clear is that vehicle TIP is not required in Baja.
In Banjercito files in regards to "casas rodeantes" (RV) it only says "teritoria Mexicana".
