Airplane spotted in desert
While researching previous SCORE races in Baja, I spotted what looked like an airplane in the desert s/w of San Felipe. Zooming in closer on Google
Earth it was apparent that it was a large passenger jet. What the heck? Abandoned?
Secret runway? Closer examination showed the twin contrails so it was obvious that it was flying under the satellite at the moment the image was
taken.
See if you can find it. Hint: imagery date 12-14-2014
Please don't post location until other have a chance to search for it.

Think the crew had a few to many before takeoff on that one, weaving all over the desert.

One of the very classic Baja tales, is of larger aircraft of sorts
landing somewhere aroun Todo Santos BCS, some 20 yrs.+
back, loaded with cocaine. Apparently the plan was to fly it
out, but front landing gear broke. A bit of a quandary. Reported
State cops, heavy equip., dismantled and buried it

I remember that. We were done chasing the Baja 1000 to La Paz, and on the way back north, there were a dozen new check-points that popped up. While
inspecting the truck, the 18-year-old soldiers would eventually look in my wife's bag, but when they came to women products, they would turn beet red
and hand back the bag. Note to criminals: hide the cocaine under feminine products.

I feel like this one has popped up before. If I remember correctly, that exhaust trail behind it that sorta looks like a trail but also an exhaust
trail combined with the the angle of the mountain, size etc...caused most to conclude this is a shot of an actual plane in flight over the mountains
from the Sat view.
I could be totally wrong though. Which is often the case.
Cool no matter what.
