Drones and cameras?

On the way into Mexico at the airport I was asked if I had any drones or cameras.

That is a first for me.

I believe as a citizen if USA I can’t legally fly a drone in Mexico.

The camera question has me curious. Anyone know what they are looking for?

Have flown a ton of times into MX with a drone. No issues.

Who exactly asked you this question?

San Jose del Cabo airport. Last week. When I handed my customs declaration in just before hitting the button I was ask if I had a drone or camera.

I responded I had a GoPro, that was of no concern. I pushed the button, got green and was on my way.

My friend ahead of me was not asked about drones or cameras but was lugging our two surfboards.

I really don’t know what other details I can provide.
