Another Baja cat...of sorts.

I didn't want to pin this cat photo onto Skeet's remembrance of Spreckles post, so here's a new Baja cat for you.

Bill Alvarado, hotel owner from Pta. Chivato times in the late 70's and 80's had at one time a couple of bobcat kits that he rescued after the mother had been shot. He built a large pen for them and nourished them with first cat's milk, then weaned them to live rabbits...with which we would supply him.

They were cute little kittens that quickly grew into more than cute....and more than a handfull. We released them one day a couple of weeks after this photo was taken..they had learned to hunt pretty well by then and would stand a better than even chance to survive. Let's hope their offspring are out in the Baja desert stalking something right now!:tumble:

Pomp!

Some of that same Family of Lynx Bred Kittys where around Loreto for several Years. I think some of them are still around and I know their offsprings are there. They have been Bred Down enough that they make good Cats.

Baja Kitty

There was also a cat with one eye at Punta Chivato named Nacho, When they sold the hotel, new owners didn't want it around. It was fun to hang out at the old hotel a watch him jump off the roof and around the pool. I think he ended up at the zoo in Santiago. It was a real bummer to see Nacho in the zoo.
