Matomi 2001: a fun video by El Camote of our group trip

This was on Presidents Day Weekend, 2001... Several members of the Amigos de Baja discussion board (before Baja Nomad) got together at El Camote's place near San Felipe for a group campout and two days tour. Among those who attended were Neal Johns, jeans, Amo Pescar, Mike Humfreville, bajaboy, elgatoloco, MexRay, Westy, and my two kids and I.

Day 1, we visited the sulfur mine, Nuevo Mazatlán (Agua de Chale), and Shell Island. Neal and Marian went to Diablo Canyon and some of their photos are shown.

Day 2, we drove down Valle Chico to Rancho Matomí and swam in the oasis (well my son and I did... very cold), then drove out down Arroyo Matomí to Hwy. 5.

Enjoy 17 minutes of fun Baja with music and more from close to 20 years ago:

Many thanks to El Camote for such great film editing, in 2001!
