Guadalupe Valley restaurant and hotel?
We'd like to stay in Guadalupe Valley later this month - recommendation for a nice place - (not too nice $$$$) in the range of $150/night?
Any experience with dinners at Corona del Valle in Guadalupe Valley?

Valle de Guadalupe
First stop should be the Museo del Vino for a map of the area, directions, suggestions, etc.
We tasted at:
Decantos – Awesome view, food and wine, #67 on the map. Ask if Alex is around. Winery dogs!

Encuentro Guadalupe - $400 / night, decent wines, good beer also.
Monte Xanic – Just down the road from Fuentes. Lovely view. Interesting architecture. Great wines. They offered tapas with paired tasting for 250P.
Tasting was 300P. Tours can be scheduled.
Las Nubes – Best overall experience. Great wines. Views of the Valle. Tasting was 250P mas o menos. Food available. Highly recommend having a snack
and a glass of wine after your tasting. #74 on the map.
Cieli – Good wine and interesting beer made with grapes. Very friendly staff. A casual place to hang out and enjoy views of the Valle.

Sol Y Barro – Funky small winery. Beautiful vineyard, nice reasonably priced wine, and interesting adobe tasting room.

Lechuza – Smaller winery off Hwy 3. Armando did our tasting and has a lot of information and recommendations. The Wine Spectator just featured their
Amantes wine. Fun place to hang out with corn hole and Jenga. Food truck on weekends.

We stayed at the donation only campground at Rancho Sordo Mundo. They used to run a school for the deaf.

Luke, whose parents started the school, manages the campground and recommended these vineyards. Note: he likes beer too!
Baron Balche – for the wine, #62 on the map. Just OK.
Fuentes – Complimentary tasting. Good wine. Dinner at their restaurant, Sarmiento. Traditional Mexican. Big plates. Miguel, owner and winemaker,
stopped by the table.
JC Bravo – great wine, especially whites
Finca La Carrodilla – small, gorgeous succulent garden, really good wines. Near #25 on the map.
Vinos Lafarga – visible from the campground, stone winery, great view of the Valle from the East
Vinedos Malagon – good wine
La Casa de Dona Lupe – great wine and restaurant
Media Perra - beer
La Esperanza – a great place for a late lunch, closes early

I recommend deckman’s and finca altozano for eats.
This time of year the evenings are a bit too cool for outdoor dining, so I would do brunch or linner if choosing an outdoor spot...

An El Mogor bottle of Merlot & the rib eye steak for two @ Deckman's
is truly fine dining

Fairly new small hotel just west of Porvenir, north side of the road.
Set back in the olive trees
Very cozy, and very clean
Roberto and his family will take very good care of you.
Last year we were there over Christmas and they invited us to have Christmas dinner with the family.....
very nice and fairly reasonable room rates
He also can make a lot of recommendations as to eating places in the area.
We went out to breakfast and also to dinner with them and they took us to really good spots.

A good hotel that has been around for a while is La Posada - Rancho Maria Teressa - https://www.ranchomariateresa.com/ - Have stayed there many times, the last being a couple of months ago and took the Covid thing very seriously.
Nice pool and café on site, Attached is a pretty solid restaurant in Naranja, plus walking distance (relatively) LaJa which is one of the original
top restaurants in La Valle.

Lencho, cant answer your question 100%, but I believe so. I probably got it from the whole name including Guadalupe being feminine. But I will not
claim any expertise here.

...for the suggestions. Unfortunately we've decided to delay our adventure with all the new B.S. -
We now plan to make the trip early in the year - I'm going to print out the thread and save it.
So, we had instead planned a nice anniversary dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and now we find it also closed - "take out" just isn't the
same.
