Mexico underreported COVID deaths by 45%!!

https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/coronavirus/real-covid-deat...

Based on this study we can assume that the rest of the world sort of falls in line with this poor job of reporting

Saying that the US is far and away the largest site of deaths is likely totally bogus, but then we probably all knew that, did we not??

I'm still trying to get that shot. Lost another friend this weekend.
Bummer.....

Mexico stated clearly early on they were not - and would not - conduct widespread testing. See this thread:

Got my first shot today. I am so stoked! Am now scheduled for second dose in a month. Then and only then will I feel good about heading back down to our casa by the sea.

There has always been no doubt in my mind that there were a lot more active cases in Mexico than were reported. It just makes common sense.

Now at least I will feel that I will not be a carrier nor a receiver when I return to paradise. We will get through this amigos. Patience.

and it works both ways, plenty of over reporting going on also. I understand in some hospitals its just easier to stamp the death certificate "covid" and move on.

Well of course it is not 100 percent effective. We will still have to mask up for some time. It just cuts the odds significantly and makes me feel a whole lot better about traveling etc. So not "nope" but still be careful and considerate.

Fauci says it is still not safe to travel! This from a guy who admitted traveling to the North Pole to give Santa a Covid 19 test!

Sounds a lot like someone on this board who preaches against travel

And then admits to trekking all over the west all summer long...

There is a lot of BS being passed around this vaccine. One of the locals is offering to give me the vaccine in February. I'm taking him up on it. Don't know the cost.

Conspiracy BS that's been spewed for a long time now. I doubt it's any easier to say a patient died of the virus than to state they died of a heart attack, if that's what they died of. You think doctors and hospitals are all some kind of lazy rookies who don't know their job?

The phase 3 pretrial results published by the authoritative medical journal Lancet confirms that the Russian vaccine is 92% effective. CNN, BBC, and Bloomberg are now all publishing it. Most scientist knew this all along. The cold war continues.

Mexico is not taking a back seat to anyone with this vaccine. In fact, Germany is trying to get it as well because the Brits are hording the Pfizer vaccine.

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-55900622

Quote:

Dr Julian Tang, a clinical virologist at the University of Leicester, said: "Despite the earlier misgivings about the way this Russian Sputnik V vaccine was rolled out more widely - ahead of sufficient Phase 3 trial data - this approach has been justified to some extent now.

"Such pandemic-related vaccine rollout compromises have, to be fair, been adopted in the UK vaccination programme also - with the extended intervals between the first and second doses.

"So we should be more careful about being overly critical about other countries' vaccine designs."
