Arroyo Catavina/San Julio/La Bocana

Oh boy... thank you for the contribution!

Here is Goldbaum's 1918 map published in 1925:

Rancho San Julio is in the center and (Puerto) San Julio is on the Pacific coast. He does have Cataviña showing way north of the ranch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a 1930 map... seems a lot copied from Goldbaum?

This one has a Catavina [ñ] and a Catavinia [?] in different places.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, let's see Howard Gulick's 1962 map (accurate road maps of Baja were created by Gulick during his 1950 to 1961 recon trips for the Lower California Guidebook).

The entire Arroyo San Julio is included down to the San Julio "Fish Camp" (Puerto Canoas today).

Thank Lance for a fun reserach project!

That is really interesting that the (unnamed) arroyo was so important to show, in 1868. Thanks!

Santa Catarina is a collection of ranch homes. The older Lower California Guidebook had a population figure for it. The beach landing or port is named the same. See my map, too.
