Leaving Sac on Sunday for San Felipe. A ride-along that is able to share driving would be desirable. Female preferred. My age 70; longtime Baja driving history. (since 1967). >>>> Vaccinated <<<

Which border crossing are you planning on using?

Yes TW 200 and what a fun bike, but not fast enough to get out of the way of those crazy truck drivers down there.

We are planning on heading that way next Wednesday, would be interested in hearing about how easy the crossing was

Crossed southbound at Calexico/Mexicali West mid afternoon Thurs 3/25. It only took 10 minutes or so to get to the front of the line, 5 minutes or less for my Sprinter to be inspected, and another 5 min. to get our FMMs and be on our way.

The southbound military checkpoint on Hwy 5 near the intersection with Hwy 3 was also quick and routine.

We crossed back to the U.S.A. on Monday 3/29, also at Mexicali West, because we departed San Felipe too late to make Mexicali East by the 2pm closing. The wait in line was about 2 hours, 15 minutes.

A "much needed long weekend in San Felipe" satisfied the essential purpose requirement for everyone who asked, Mexican and American alike, and resulted in a smile from all but the U.S. Border Patrol Agent.

At least take a break at Gonzaga Bay, have a look, 1 mile from the highway at Rancho Grande (Km. 147+, second driveway left after the gas station).
