Hotel Recommendations in La Paz

Looking for a room for two-3 nights in La Paz -somewhere near the Malecon that is quiet enough and clean and a decent price - nothing real fancy - just a cool place to stay near town

thanks for any suggestions

Edit, I posted the wrong place at first.

B&B Casa Juarez. A very nice place. 4.9 out of 5.0 rating Expedia, 9.8 out of 10 on Hotels.com. Pretty inexpensive.

Check out the pics. They have a super secure parking facility in an enclosed structure.

Hotel Calafia, domestic and business travelers mostly, dog friendly, simple, clean, old school, good location, 700/800 pesos a night.

For an interesting stay at a quirky place in old town, Hotel Yeneka, same price or less. Always an experience with lots of local culture.

Don't bother with reservations on the above, just show up, might not even take them.

Marina Hotel near the northeast end of the malecon (going towards Tecolote). Reasonable rates, get a room and have them include breakfast at the Dingy Dock restaurant located on the grounds, great food.

We stay at Hotel Hblue in La Paz it’s new, clean and quiet. Good food within walking distance. About $75 a night and sometimes a free breakfast!

We generally stay here for about 70 USD:

Free breakfast(Super 8 style), shuttle from Cabo goes right by and drops us off out front. Lots of free parking, 24 hour security to chat with during middle of night strolls. A few blocks walk to the Malecon past a good range of Mercado Madero and other local stores and restaurants.

Hotel Catedral adjacent to the main plaza. About $75, and usually includes an elaborate breakfast.

Quiet.

Underground parking. Rooftop pool and bar.

Very nice folks.

Expect significant price increases from what is posted here. We found our place at One LaPaz was up 30% in cost over 18 months between visits. A whole lot more employees required to meet new guidelines I think.
