What’s New at www.VivaBaja.com ???

What’s New at www.VivaBaja.com

The Viva Baja Library: see book covers (with the year). This is an ongoing project to scan all my books and add them, grouped by subject. 314 books added since January 1, 2022!

Maps! See over 200 historic and modern maps now in the maps section. Many of the AAA Baja maps added!

Historic Photos from seven famous Baja writers of the 1900s. In particular, never before seen photos from the camera of Erle Stanley Gardner.

Trip Photo Albums for my travels from 1965 to 2019. See places in Baja that may be where you went or want to go.

The excellent trip reports from ‘Octopup’ with his detailed maps and photos.

The writings of A. Muia are now in the Baja Author’s section (in Links to more Baja sites). This writer is a Baja Nomad: 'gueribo'!

The Baja Highways Kilometer List… and much, much more!

Wow David, you have been busy. Long time ago we talked about documenting the Baja historical sites before they are gone. Many are gone now, but you have done an amazing job of organizing and preserving these sites for others for all time. Well done!

Thanks Jack!
I have a few pages devoted to historical content.
Yes, you and I worked a lot to make these sites more 'real' and perhaps important by documenting them with photos and other details.
Here are some of the historic pages or links on VivaBaja.com:

The Spanish Missions and Visitas in Baja California (Photos, GPS, History)
Mission-basic-facts-names-dates-founders/
Quick look Mission Photos, north to south
Baja California Maps (1701-2021) click here for over 200 maps!
Lost Mission Ruins?: Found! 1966 & 2009
HISTORIC PHOTOS OF BAJA CALIFORNIA
Jack Swords’ Baja History Gallery
William Lacy and Molino de Lacy
William Walker in Baja, 1853
Margaret Brown Baldwin, early 1900s

Having the ability to easily make new pages and edit content on VivaBaja is most rewarding! Before, I was at the mercy of my webhost... a great guy but busy so I didn't want to bug him too much.

You have great photos of the missions from around 2000 to 2003. Many of them were used for the mission page and in my book. When I was able to take new photos during my many trips after 2003, I would replace your older ones with my newer ones.

Now, I think I will make a Jack Swords Mission Photos page for a look at the ancient artifacts as they were 20 years ago, plus, your photo quality is so much better than mine! :light::cool:
