Visiting Mulege for 3 nights in the first week of April
I have been to Mulege but many years ago. I loved it and need an update for some of you, please. I have a car to get around, and we have a place to
stay
What are the best restaurants/ bars to visit?
What must tourist places we should visit? Nature, Culture, etc...
What are great spots along Bahía Concepción to visit?
Does anyone have a guide to fish to recommend?
I would appreciate your input.

Others here go far more often than I, and I hope they provide more ideas. Here are my answers...
"What are the best restaurants/ bars to visit?"
*El Patrón (at the end of the north river road at the beach).
"What must tourist places we should visit?"
*The mission, the 4th in California (founded in 1705, stone church built 1757-1766).
*The (former)Territorial Prison museum.
*San Borjitas cave (Km. 156 north of town and 18 mile dirt road, perhaps the most spectacular of the giant cave art sites)
"What are great spots along Bahía Concepción to visit?"
They are all pretty good, but El Requesón (Km. 92) with its two-sided beach, is a favorite. The Playa Buenaventura Cantina is a great meal and bar
stop! Km. 93. Ask Mark or Nathan at Buenaventura for a fishing guide recommendation.

Three days ? You need at least a week just for Mulege.
best fishing guide Alex ask anyone around town and they can hook you up with him.
breakfast Maly's just past the arch on the right.
lunch danny's tacos past the hospital on right. If there on saturday go early and order a kilo of carnitas.
happy hour and dinners junga jims on the river. best dive bar with great food plus a bunch of lying fisherman. Also go to Bob and Carmans race bar.
along the rio town side. great food, drinks and also more lying fisherman.
events ask those at junta or race bar most every weekend there's something going.
have fun you'll be in one of the best places in Baja even with all the fisherman.

Not “bad” timing. Just means beaches and tourist places will be more crowded with semana Santa vacationers….

Yes. ALL the Bahia Concepcion beaches and ALL the Mulege hotels will be packed solid from April 5th ubtil April 9th. It is chaos. I've been staying on
Bahia Concepcion beaches during Semana Santa for 10 years. We look at it as a fun extravaganza. But believe me, it is noisy and crowded, FULL UP! Mega
party time.

Yes. They moved south of town on the west side of the highway. Nice operation and good beer choices

I am thinking about stopping by the Tanaja rancho just outside the site to see if they could let us up there to visit tomorrow. Hopefully they are ok
with / able to accomodate drop-in visitors.

For anyome thinking about visiting San Borjitas, we drove out there this afternoon to check it out. It is a beautiful 29km drive, partially graded,
with some water crossings and a couple stretches driving through rocky washes, to get to rancho La Tinaja. Poncho and Gabriela are at the ranch and
take people up to the paintings. They are on whatsapp at +52 613 104 5949. It is a good idea to schedule with them ahead of time. We are going to
see the paintings in the morning.
