Eagle Lake going off

For those of you who like catching large rainbows, Eagle Lake in NorCal, above Susanville, is just going nuts. EL is California's 2nd largest natural lake (not counting Tahoe) and has no outlet; as a result it is fairly saline. The trout evolved to handle the PH level and so did the brine shrimp, the trout eat a lot of the shrimp and have pink flesh, just like salmon. It's the only trout we keep all year.
The typical 2-trout limit is around 4 pounds total; this weekend we never had a fish smaller than 4# and a couple at 5#. 2 of us had about 10 in a half day. Water temps are dropping fast, 59ish, so release is ok.
Flyguys have not shown yet but I suspect they will be on the shore in a week or so.
If you go, make sure you remove any old Obama bumper stickers for your personal safety.
