November 2023 Baja Bound Article: Building Highway One (50 years ago)

While a recent health issue made writing a new article a bit difficult, I suggested they run a post story about the Old Road and New Highway.
The 'New' Highway would turn FIFTY on December 1, 2023.

I still managed to write an introduction (in italics) and included a photo of the opening ceremony:

Hi Russ!
The procedure was yesterday (Wednesday)...
This morning, I felt wonderful!
However, I have to not assume it was a success, and take it easy!

I removed the gauze and band aid over my I.V. wound in my wrist, too soon (yesterday). It was fine looking until I moved and blood suddenly was all over my hand.. HA!!

So, I am a bit sore but the sciatic pain is gone... However, they did use steroids so until that wears off, I won't know for sure.

The doctor said the fluid in the cyst is so thick that drawing any out was impossible, the cyst is quite small but since there is so little room along the spinal canal, any bulge can irritate the sciatic nerve.

Thank you for asking and I hope you are doing well. Are you at Punta Chivato now?
