Road from San Felipe to M1 paved?

Is the road south from San Felipe past Coco's Corner paved all the way to MX 1?

Yes, and the further south you go the better it gets. Watch out for rocks on the road passing by some of the steeper cuts.

Lots of potholes on Mex 1!

The road is paved and not too many potholes. HWY1 has a lot of potholes between the LA Bay turnoff and Jose Y Maria if you’re going that far south.

San Felipe.

It's actually Hans Felipe, named after a famous Austrian-Mexican explorer of the 18th century.

I'm sure DK can tell us all about it, including street maps of Vienna throughout the centuries. ;)
