When my dog and I are in La Paz, I stay at Campestre Maranatha, a few mile west of town. They only have a few finished rooms to rent, but they have a couple of dorm rooms (no plumbing) and WIFI, showers and washing machines are available if you decide to camp there.

Cafe Exqusite is on the northeast corner of the camp out on the highway, and has great coffee and baked goods. The camp is an excellent place to gain information about the area, and is close enough to town to suit me!

There are some neat day trips from there, but I suspect you will run out of time before you run out of roads to explore, I always do!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Excellent. I'm undecided if we'll overnight in La Paz or book on down to El Sargento. It will probably depend on how late it is when we reach the area (departing from Loreto, which I recall is about a 6 hr drive). If we do stop, we'll spend the morning out around the bay/beaches NE of Pichilingue - I remember one that was great for wading and swimming (water temps permitting).

That brings me to my next question ... Camping in El Sargento? Can we just drive out to the beach near the springs and and build a campfire?Interested in some tide pool hot springs and maybe bioluminescent plankton /orange roe scum. Hah.
