Need help finding a year long rental

Hi. I had posted a thread here about my personal plans to move down to the Baja area within the year but this one doesn't have anything to do with that one. I still have quite a bit to consider with regard to that particular intention.

Anyway, one of my very, very, good friends is in Baja at the moment. In the Rosarita area. She's wants to find a safe, and inexpensive little house or apartment to rent for a year. She does not have alot of money, though.

There's quite a bit to say about her plans but I won't get into it in any great depth. She's staying with a good friend at the moment but her friend rents out her house so she doesn't want to cause a problem for her. In fact, her parents have a place don there and she was staying there managing it for a while but it's being rented out for a year at the moment. If she can't find a place in the area, she's gonna have to move further inland where she just really doesn't want to go. And I don't want her to do that either but that's something else.

She's been looking around, but everything is just way out of her means at like 800 a month.

There's more to say about what she's looking for. But I'll just put this here for now as a kind of exploratory thing.

But she pays her bills. And she's an honest person. Actually, she's been a mission worker for many years but she doesn't do that now. She's actually a developer by trade. And some other technical stuff that I can't think of the words for right this second. It's late and I'm tired.

Thanks for any questions. I might have answers. And she might chime in if she makes an account here. Which I think she might. I was just talking to her on the phone and she knows that I've been using this site as an exploratory resource for my own immediate plans. I told her I'd ask for any leads since I already had an account here and since I've learned so much since browsing through the site late at night.

We just really need some help trying to find something. Or even helped in the right direction

Thanks. And sorry for all the edits. I always seem to remember another thought that I forgot the first time.

Try going on the Punta Banda Bulletin Board on Yahoo groups. Once or twice a week a nice inexpensive rental pops up.

The other one to look in is the Tijuana Craigs list. There are lots of rentals there also, and they also go as far as Ensenada area (Punta Banda).

The spit area just East of campo La Jolla also has some inexpensive beachfront rentals, and they are listed in the Punta Banda Bulletin board. Do a file search on either PBB or Craigs list.

Best of luck, Jimmy!!

100 scoots a month? WOW........that just sent me back a couple hundred years.
Have your friend find a good beachcamp with obvious neglected properties.
Contact the owner through the office if possible, and offer to keep their shack alive for free. Lettem' know you flush toilets when they're loaded near the top.

If her references are as good as you say, she might be able to find a 'house sitting' gig. I have not found even a camp site with a shower option for what you say she wants to spend for rent.

Good luck with the search!

Good news. My friend got a two bedroom, very nice, clean, gated apartment. Ended up costing 300 a month. And one of her mission worker friends will likely move in with her in a couple of months. So, all is well that ends well.

This was actually something that she was considering and trying to do. Just so many applicants for those, it was nuts.
