Can you drive into San Basillio now? Wasn't it blocked off for a while?

We went by boat. The South road in, is private, but I've never heard of the other cut in a couple miles to the North being blocked. Maybe I missed
something.

We were there a couple years ago and went up to the north entrance and the Mexican girl I was with said we shouldn't pass from what she red on the
sign. Have heard some others getting in but the guard wouldn't let them on the beach or some such. Love to go hang out there for a while sometimes,
looks pretty cool.

StuckSucks told me the first part through the canyon going from the inland to the coast was sketchy, and he wasn't lying. Lots of sheer cliffs. And
the canyon goes on for a good ways. Graded pretty well, but tons of rocks. It was only about 5 miles, but took us like an hour.
It was so hot we decided to leave the bikes in Loreto and just take the truck. My 17 drove it. I was a little nervous for sure. Would have much
preferred riding it on a bike. Could have gone twice as fast.
Got a flat tire for the first time in the truck in 4-5 years. Luckily it was a slow leak and we had a pump.
I rented a RZR for the day tomorrow. We are gonna rip up to San Evaristo and back.
Here's the track La Paz to Los Barriles.

north road is open, there is a closed cattle gate but you can open it and pass as long as you shut it behind you

Just got back to La Paz about an hour ago.
If you want to go out to the islands, follow the signs for the restaurant once you get to SE. Once there, ask for Lupe. He'll take you to San Jose
and San Francisco for 1,800 pesos. We went out with him for 4 hours.
The mangroves on San Jose are incredible.

Very nice pics -- fun to see the coast road between La Paz and Los Barriles from the air -- yep, looks the way it felt.
