TIP required for short trips?

Is a TIP required if you’re only staying in Cabo a month with the boat? Crossing by land.

most slips in La Paz require TIP and insurance before they let you out.
Of course the unimproved slips are all yours

Marinas will require them to get a slip.

If you are crossing by land pulling the boat on a trailer more than likely you will be sent to secondary.

There they will verify VIN numbers of both the trailer and the boat with the current registration cards. You will also most likely be required to get your TIP there and then.

And as others have have already reported you will need a TIP to use a marina to slip your boat.

The TIP process at Otay is pretty quick and easy, provided you have the original titles, current registration cards and copies of the beforementioned items.

Have a good trip!

How long is your boat. Smaller than 15' do not require TIP as I recall.

I think the limit is 14. This one is 19. It will be at my house, not in a marina.
