Punta Chivato kayak fishing
Been back at our place in Punta Chivato for a couple weeks now.
Caught this monter off Punta Conception last week.
What a fight!
Turned him loose after getting pictures.

I wonder how many miles he towed you? .......I had one tow me in a one
man life raft for a good distance, Roosters are a one of a kind fish
Congrats, years down the line that will be a great fish story with pic's
Rob
Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.
I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

BigBear- we have a rig that can get out to camp spots. She's scratched all to h@ll, but that's what she's for.
Baitcast- not sure how far i got towed, but at one point my fishfinder had us clocked at 2.5 mph! I was impressed!

We used to call them "Desert Penstriping." Showed how dedicated you were to getting "out there". From your rig pics, you're pretty dedicated. You
deserve the rooster.

Awesome!
Well done Douglas P!!
Another great memory and fish story to add to your bag of tails!
Did you catch it trolling or casting and with what??
Thanks for sharing your catch of a lifetime!

Watizname-I call em Baja pinstripes. Some of them are down to primer!
Don Jorge- I caught him trolling, running an 8" deep dive plastic jig. You can see it in my hand, it's what I'm picking him up with.
Truly (sadly) a once in a lifetime fish!

Thanks, it was fun.
Sooo many places called by sooo many different names. It might be the beach you speak of. I know it as San Lino.

Just got back from a month in Baja on Tuesday and already planning next years trip. I am going to stay in Mulege for the month of November and am
going to put together a similar set up to what you have. Tacoma with a couple of Yaks on top.
Congrats on the big Rooster. Dream fish!

Nice rooster! I did a little bit of fly fishing the shore for the small roosters close to fish camp - what fun that was!
