Our new project in Guerrero Negro...Hacienda Baja Magic
During Covid, my daughter Sirena moved back home from Ensenada. She soon realized that she was much happier back in the hood here! Sirena has been
running our remote Whale Camp in Laguna Ojo de Liebre and basically taking over the reins of Whale Magic... which is awesome! She has started a new
tour company of her own Baja Magic Expeditions which does tours year round in central Baja. She is young, vibrant, experienced and stoked to have her
own business. Here is a little announcement and video of our new project. I will still be operating La Bufadora Inn in Bahia Asuncion.
Greetings to all our friends & clients! Sirena & I are excited to share some big news about our new project.
An incredible opportunity dropped in our laps on the Spring Equinox this year, when old family friends we have known for over 30 years offered us
their expansive hacienda in Guerrero Negro. The elderly couple realized it was time to downsize and move in with their children & grandchildren in
Tijuana. They poured their heart & soul into this beautiful hacienda for 3 generations and are thrilled to be passing it on to us and with our
plan to convert it into a gathering place for travelers.
Our guests will love the old Baja charm and relaxed, friendly atmosphere in the beautiful shady garden area & the Baja Magic Clubhouse where they
can hang out & share stories with other travelers or play games or dip in the pool.
Hacienda Baja Magic features spacious 2-bedroom suites with large living rooms hacienda style, glamping in our beautiful wall tents with king size
beds, tenting & RV parking, a hostel style Bunkhouse, a large common area with games, a pool table and a pool, a spa with a masseuse, an events
venue & a beautiful garden area with an outdoor kitchen, BBQ and dining tables.
We plan to host artists retreats, workshops, gallery shows, special events & celebrations, music, dancing, movie nights, games nights and food
& drinks. It will be a wonderful recreation center in Guerrero Negro!
It has been years in the making, years of Sirena & I dreaming of a full-service tour company catering to Baja travelers. We dreamt of a Hacienda
style place, complete with a variety of accommodation options & dining with a charming, friendly social atmosphere. Hacienda Baja Magic is a one
stop, fun place where travelers can relax year-round while in Guerrero Negro in Central Baja.
Since my daughter Sirena moved back home, she has been developing her own company, Baja Magic Expeditions to help visitors explore all the beautiful
& historic attractions here in Central Baja that can be accessed year-round like missions, cave paintings, ranches, vineyards, wildlife preserves,
surf camps etc. Tours can be arranged for you with guides or self-guided.
Our tribe is very excited about this new venture and look forward to sharing our dream with you!
Here is the first video I took when I fell in love with the Hacienda
https://vimeo.com/698857817
We are renovating for a couple months as we replace the roof, pour all new floors, paint and improve the gardens...so stay tuned for our launch date!
Directions are on Google Maps under Baja Magic in Guerrero Negro!
It is behind Terra Sal and down a few blocks.

Congratulations on your new venture and may your Baja Dreams come true!
I had planned on stopping by La Bufadora a few weeks ago, but I fell and injured my ribs and just wanted to get home.
Are you still operating Campo Sirena in Bahia Asuncion?
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Oh no...sore ribs are nasty! Yes Campo Sirena is open and lots of fishermen camping lately...fishing is wide open!
The Hacienda is dog friendly and has several different areas to have your dog outside. We are working on beautifying the RV parking area & making
a dump station and hookups for Overlanders! Glamping tents in the courtyard by the Bunkhouse too. Something for everyone!

The Hacienda Baja Magic is up and running! We had a fantastic whale season and all our guests loved the family atmosphere, using the clubhouse,
communal kitchen, gardens, BBQ, pool table etc.
The campers, Vanlifers, iOverlanders etc enjoyed all the amenities and we kept the masseuse real busy in our spa! Nice the compound is completely
walled in so very secure and private.
It was just as I envisioned it with folks chatting about where they have been, where they are going, comparing maps etc and making new friends.
People stayed longer than they planned and took other tours of interest in the area apart from playing with whales.
Our lovely private rooms with bathrooms & showers with a king bed and queens and single beds too have been very popular and guests enjoy the
library and quiet living room area.
[/url]
The Bunkhouse has been busy with families and backpackers and bikers.
Stop in and see us or stay with us...Sirena is running it and will make you feel at home!
To find us look on google maps under BAJA MAGIC and follow the signs. We are close to Zihul's Knives shop.

Fantastic opportunity for you!
Reminds me of the good times I had at Casa Diaz in Bay of LA many years ago
Get on Facebook and get it to spread the word Keep posting updates there to spread the word.
Google up "Baja RV Caravans" You will find several groups that "guide" RVs into Baja (many from Canada) who are always looking for a new place to go.
What can be done there when the whales are not there? You need to push that also. Shore fishing? Pangas available for fishing?
What a great opportunity !!!!

We just stayed at the Hacienda - what a nice experience!
Our group of 11 took advantage of what the Hacienda provides for camping!
The whale tour, though toward the end of the season, was exceptional - three solid hours of close up encounters, followed by a very special treat
(observation) at the very end! Shari can provide details since I may not explain it correctly.
As promised, the margaritas were probably the best of our entire adventure, and we DID sample plenty along the way.
This place not only has the potential to be one of the most relaxing stopovers - but it already is.
Big thank you to Shari and the entire staff at The Hacienda.

thanks for the suggestions Cliffy...we can use all the help we can get. We were sooooo crazy busy during whale season we didnt have much time for
posting on social media but plan to do that in the coming weeks to try to raise awareness of what we offer.
There is lots to do in this area besides whales and thus Sirena's new venture is called Baja Magic which offers tours to the missions in the area,
cave paintings, ranches, sport fishing charters our of GN, salt works tours, floating in the therapeutic salt pools, Pronghorn Antelope preserve etc.
plus massages! We are really stoked to show people what this unique part of Baja has to experience.
