As of 30 min ago our friends in San Ignacio were hanging out in Rice & Beans parking lot. It had stopped raining and the power was still on.

Hwy 5 was reported closed north of San Felipe this evening.

Hwy 1 is reported to have numerous problems between Loreto and San Ignacio due to heavy rain.

Santa Rosalia is reporting heavy flooding, with hi way 1 impassable, and a washout on Cuesta del Infierno. Not a good time to be travelling. They will have it sorted out in a few days..

CNN just showed a raging river through Santa Rosalia that included fatalities. It looked devastating. Just a rainy day here in Carlsbad CA. I am hoping for the best for everyone.

I am wearing a Bahia Asuncion T-shirt today, thinking about the folks there!

I got the report about the fatality in Santa Rosalita and video that seems to be the destruction of the Eifel Church in town. I haven't been able to moto the peninsula for 5 years now and miss the Baja experiences immensely. A shoutout to those who live in the toughest place I know. Buona Sera Baja

The video you linked is not showing storm damage. Can you try again with the link you mentioned? Thank you.

The highway at the new bridge just before seeing town is washed out. As with so many other places, the bridge is fine but the few feet of highway connecting to it is washed asway.

It was that way last year after "Kay" had her way with the peninsula. I think I was one of the first vehicles to make it through the road southward to El Arco.

I bet that it is a challenge again right now!

The approaches to the bridge at the rest area south of the Rancho Grande market in Gonzaga bay washed out and it’s possible the bridge is gone too.
