I always stay at my friends house when in la paz, but have stopped by a few hotels in my times there. Hotel catedral looks interesting.
Woke!

I used to stay at the 7 Malecon but after your review of 7 centro (a long time ago) I tried it last july. It was good! Better parking and breakie plus
it's near great fish tacos at Mcfisher and an oxxo!
Thanks 4x4.

hola,
what ever happened to the big old hotel bouganvilla ?
i stayed there many times about 20 years ago. monster swimming pool and after it sold, there was a big palapa in the big patio area.
rooms were pretty large and clean and a huge parking lot that was locked up at night.
i never had any problems when staying there for a few nights at a time.
i heard there was a theft problem from the rooms so i stopped staying there.
BIEN SALUD,
DA RAT

forget whatever you knew about La Paz. Things have changed rapidly.
Now they pretend to be world class, but have no idea how world class looks like.
Prices are through the roof.
15 bucks for a burger does not even raise eyebrows anymore.

One La Paz is decently close to the Malecon as well a few blocks in on Bravo. Prices recently have exploded upward every place we checked in Mexico.
Mexico city was excruciatingly high near the airport. Good luck

I am so glad many of us have "real" Baja memories
the definition of life is change
Baja has changed really really fast
no need to complain
we can't stop it or go back to yesterday
another paradise lost

One bussing and hitch hiking trip to La Paz in the early 80's I paid 50 cents for a nice bed on the roof of the hotel with a bay view. Buss ticket was
$18 from TJ to L. Paz. Comida corrida across the street had a full fish plate for $1.25, bottomless shrimp c-cktails with local shrimp, (all gone now)
on the bank corner, (remember???), were about 50 cents. A case of Pacifico was $3.60, and on and on........
La Paz isn't what it used to be, although reasonably priced, ($30), clean hotels can still be found. Domestic tourism has a growing market and needs
to price accordingly. Another factor to raising prices is the strong peso against all currencies and the growing Mexican economy which is currently
over 3%, well above many of the other Latin American players. It appears to me that unlike the US, the Mexican middle class is growing.
Most of the rest of the Republic is still a bargain compared to BCS.

hi
Mexico have a way of doing business, when things slow down for them. to make up for lost income, they raise the prices to make up for lost income?

Know little about them, but from appearances looks like hotel is associated with kayaking/whale shark tour outfit.
Look it up on trip advisor and give it a go.
Doesnt sound like you need much beyond it meeting basic needs….

Quiet area - close to everything.
A little tucked away.

We did an airbnb and it was so nice. In Centro and close to everything. I wd have to hunt to find the info and if I find it, I will pass it on.
Really nice to have a small kitchen and a livingroom.
