update
Mexico has shifted the airlift from Tijuana to Guadalajara. We were told it is a weather situation
And we have been told that there are about 10 GA jets on their back Cabo, that one US GA ircraft flying in closed airspace was forced to land in La
Paz and is grounded, and that there are about three US GA aircraft in Loreto that landed and are grounded by the military.
Trust us on this one. Do not fly into Baja

I was thinking on how to translate Cpt. Mike's "GA", and I feel that you came up with a better description than General Aviation.
Thanks DK!

Mike...thank you for being our BBP liason and keeping us updated. If anyone needs an interpreter or help in central baja...I would be happy to help
and our strip is in good shape.
Have you heard anything else about an accident at the La Paz airport?

Talked to the airport in Loreto this morning. They are back to normal and will accept incoming flights of general aviation aircraft. The will not
allow flights to go south of there. They have all services including fuel but did not ask if they can accept credit card.

Even though people are in critical need of many items, Mexico's Customs has not been instructed to relax customs rules. At this point, used clothing,
etc. cannot be brought in for donation as well as rice & beans (they are seed) and more. And if you bring in new items, be prepared to show sales
slips and pay a tax on the items..... Go figure, kind of makes you think about not caring other then it is the people that need help. Emergency
procedures are in the process to allow all donations, we will alert the notice when this happens.
3) Donations:
We are still taking cash donations as well as are in the process of setting up drop off points for donations on relief items. Right now we are
thinking Phoenix, Tucson, San Diego, Las Angeles, San Francisco, and.... If you could help coordinate these drop-off places, please send an email so
that we can follow up and alert media about the location. (accessible areas on an airport work real well)
Don't forget, you can donate cash to the BBP Foundation, a 501c3 tax free corporation. Call the office and it can be done by credit card.
