You just pointed to the reasons that I made this comment:

"so I'll just wait for his word before we all start tossing money at him in a way that might offend him."

I just didn't want a friend to become upset with my pushy ways, by even issuing the (in the spirit of friendship)my original Challenge, and so I tried to word it in such a manner that it would not offend.

So! The way this thing has gone I will just send the check, I intended to in the beginning, and not worry about offending him or anyone else.

How much do you spend on cable TV, magazines, Discover Baja membership, whatever... for entertainment or Baja news?

Now, how much do you read, enjoy, get information from, share stories or photos, etc. on Baja Nomad for free???

The best things in life are free, and Baja Nomad is one of these.

However, Doug (and now with Hose A as a moderator) put a lot of hours a day to keep this place up and running... Clicking on the Google ads and using BajaBound.com helps... But, if you are able to contribute more to cover the expenses of keeping this site up and running... it would be well received and used for that purpose.

THANKS!!!

I had indicated to Bernie that I was looking into the costs on this from my supplier... only it's taken me a little longer to respond to this than I had meant to. For this Bernie, I apologize.

I have received (but not deposited) 4 checks for $50 from some quite generous and thoughtful Nomads wishing to get this jump started.

I've now spent some time with this, and am considering stickers that are 9 1/4" x 2 1/16" (or 2.5") - a little smaller than a full-size bumper sticker (at something like 11.5" x 3").

What are your thoughts on something like the attached mock-up?

Thank you,
--

I think I will get more than one and place one on my rear-view mirror so I don't have to see Baja as I cross back into the States...............always a bummer for me.

The Nomad sticker is a real winner--and it will go well with the color of my new car.

Now all I need to do is get my Sentri sticker transferred--but that has to wait until DMV can straighten out the mess where they failed to assign my MI BAJA plates to my new vehicle.

Doug, you are right on the money with this bumper sticker and it will easily stand out for others to see. This will also help Nomads to I.D. Nomads quickly on the road. I like it and you "Got ER Done." Later---------bajafun777

I showed the mock up to a friend, who is a well known art critique, and she said it would stand out from all other bumper stickers.............keep it the way the man designed it!

Went back and forth with communications between myself and the supplier until he had it the way I wanted it. We finalized things on Wednesday morning (two days ago). I didn't ask when they'd be ready. I presume within the next week or two (I've forgotten the turn around time).

Just a suggestion for our favorite stickers........

A couple of weeks ago some Yahoo cab driver rear ended my 4Runner at a stop light. not alot of damage and only to the bumper. They did fix it, but, I lost some stickers that I maynot be able to replace easily.......... so, buy more than one in case you get a new rig, or worse happens.

Stickers were delivered to me today. We needed to lighten-up the purple color a little so it would stand out better against the black outline, and the little "tm" is below the "d" instead of above it in the final product.

I'll have packages with signed decals go out as soon as I can. I just re-funded my PayPal account with $$$ to print mailing labels for these, but now that'll take 'til maybe Monday before it goes through. So, either I'll wait until then, or will see if I can get to a post office before that.

I'll likely have a sticker option in the Tienda soon, but not sure what will work best. Still pondering that slightly.

Thanks,

Here's a "fairly accurate" representation of what the stickers look like....
