Interview
We traveled to San Diego the night before to get to the border in Otay Mesa for a 6:00 a.m. interview. Only ones there - until about 5 minutes to 6:00
then the flood gate opened and soon there were 20+ folks waiting for a 6:00 a.m. interview.....
We were called in pretty quickly and the interview was basically - "Is everything on your application correct" Yep - interview over - I don't recall
but think they took either fingerprints or photo - (heck, maybe neither) and we were out of there.
Maybe it helped that our applications were truthful - we had no background issues that might have raised a red flag - in our view.

I did my interview at LAX. It was probably a 45 min wait, although I was 15 mins early.
Kids did theirs at the new location outside LAX. 15 min wait.
All interviews were done in 5 mins give or take.

I had it for two weeks, and cancelled it. Lot of appointments showed up every day, but unless you're on your computer 24/7, and continually logged
into the TT website, you can't get one.

You’ve got to be quick with your click! Lot’s of people jonesing for those early slots! |
I'm not up early in the morning, unless I have to go somewhere, and wouldn't have time to turn on my computer. But...when my cats wake me at 3am to
eat, I may try then, if I remember.
I changed my password on the TTP, so I'll try from my phone when I wake up during the night.

I don’t know if the middle of the night or wee hours of the morning will help. It seemed like when someone cancels, their slot opens up. After
getting confirmation that my earlier date was accepted, I went back and saw my old spot open up. As I refreshed I watched my old spot get snapped up.
I was checking in around 7:15-7:30 in the morning. There may have been better slots earlier but I’m very happy with the progress I made going this
route.

When I had appointment scanner, the slots would open up at all hours of the day and night. I'll see if I have any luck with changing it on my phone,
but even if I don't get an earlier one, at least I still have my June appt.

These appointments are from when I had a subscription to appointment scanner, so you can see that they open up randomly.

I managed to move up to an April appointment from the one in June. I'll keep checking to see if I can move up anymore.

Thanks to DosMars for the tip about getting an earlier interview for GE. In less than a week, I bumped it from next June to next April, to next week.
I really appreciate the tip!

I just kept checking every time I was online, and they even had appointments for yesterday when I was online. It was interesting, because the
appointments would show up from sometime next year, to none, to next week.

Are you looking at GE or SENTRI appointments? I'm considering trying to get the kids in earlier for Global up near LAX, but may wait unless I can
grab a Saturday.

I just looked where it says, "reschedule interview." All of the interview sites will show up in each state, and you just pick the one that you want,
and see if there are any dates.

Using appointment scanner I was able to move a March 2021 appointment up till Nov 2, 2020, tomorrow morning at Otay.
Thanks for sharing that information about Appointment Scanner here on Nomads!

Thanks to DosMars, I was able to do it without Appointment Scanner, and saved $15.
With Appointment Scanner, you have to wait for the appointments to show up in your email/text, then go into the TTP website. But by staying logged
into the TTP website while I was already online, I saw the appointments right away, and bypassed all the other people looking for earlier
appointments.

FWIW, Received the Sentri and GE approval this morning.
Although I had applied only for Sentri for myself and vehicle, the agent in charge asked if I would like to add Global Entry. Yes please.
Photo, fingerprints, a few basic questions answered and 97 dollars later it is done. Sentri for me and truck at teh border and GE for flying
internationally. They mail the cards within 2 weeks they say. Im stoked.
So, even if you do not sign up for GE at first they give you the option of getting it during the process. Very nice. Thanks again to those who
posted their experiences. It helped!

My appointment is at 5:15 on Thursday, and I plan to leave at 3 to get there early depending on traffic, and park in a lot.
