There's no stopping the entrepreneurial spirit! Even the frogs found out a couple dozen years ago that Americans are so stupid they'll pay good money for water in little bottles if advertising can make it look like a hip and sophisticated thing to do.

My favorite scam has always been;

LAST CHANCE TO SEND YOUR DOLLAR TO P.O. Box....!

BTW, ask Dave the difference between Kosher and non-Kosher salt.:rolleyes:

THE SECRET IS IN THE SALT

"Our salt is pure, kosher grade Baja sea salt that we import from the Baja Peninsula, Mexico. The salt is naturally harvested from sea salt fields developed with sun and wind. No artificial method is used to produce the salt crystals, and there is no damage what-so-ever to the beautiful ecosystem that is so precious to the Baja Peninsula. The process used to refine the salt is state-of-the-art, with assurance that impurities are removed to maintain the natural mineral content and benefits to the skin."

.....and I thought it was harvested by gargantuan trucks and developed by the Japanese.

....and no damage either:

But really, Bruce, someone in Mulege could do the same thing. Pack it in small bamboo stalks with a cutesy label - only sell it for $5.00. Tourists like to buy stuff and bring it home as gifts, etc. This would be a unique Baja product sold in Baja. Someone in Baja should take advantage of this opportunity.

hear that JR?

G. Negro sea salt in bamboo salt shakers. Sounds pretty easy and Wilderone is right, tourists will buy almost anything that they think is cheap and unique.

When we visit Scammons we always stop at the roadside and pick up several big chunks of salt to use at home. The wifey tells me that we have just enough left to get us to next February!

Since we do make

salt and pepper shakers out of bamboo, I think I will take a broom and dust pan the next time we pass through the black warrior.

and don't forget margarita salt. Put a little whale on the product tag, and call it "sal ole". (I've been watching The Apprentice too long).
