Baja Resort Advisors, LLC has announced an $800 million development deal to build a 2,300-unit mixed-use community called Ventana al Mar near Ensenada in Baja California.

The housing and resort development firm, which is based in Ensenada and has a representative office in La Jolla, signed the deal with Desarrolladora GOF, SA de CV, the owner of Ventana al Mar. The agreement calls for Baja Resort Advisors to provide development and marketing services for the master planned project.

The resort, about seven miles north of Ensenada and about 70 miles south of the San Ysidro border crossing, will include single-family and condominium units, shopping centers, schools, two hotels, a complete spa, a clubhouse, a 438-yard-long beachfront, a heliport and a medical center on a more than 550-acre site.

The agreement provides Baja Resort Advisors with a major equity position in the project, along with a long-term commitment for services, said Gabriel V. Robles, the firm?s managing partner.

Baja Resort has had several previous development projects in Mexico, including Cabo San Lucas and Cancun. In addition to a representative office in La Jolla that provides services to buyers, the company has an operating office in Ensenada.
